Haryana makes Solar Photovoltaic Power plant mandatory for new buildings

➢ Haryana Government has issued instructions concerning installation of Solar Photovoltaic Power plant for efficient use of electricity and its conservation in the state.
➢ All new residential buildings on a plot size of 500 square yards would have to installSolar Photovoltaic Power plant either of minimum 1 kilowatt peak or 5 percent of sanctioned load, whichever is higher.
➢ The notification was issued by Haryana New and Renewable Energy Department.
➢ all new private educational institutes, schools, colleges, hostels, technical or vocational educations institutes, universities having sanctioned load of 30 KW and above would have to install similar plant having capacity of minimum 5 kw peak or 5 percent of sanctioned load, whichever is higher.
➢ Similarly, it would be mandatory for all government buildings and offices, government colleges, Government Educational Institutes and Universities.

Haryana 1st To Launch High Risk Pregnancy Portal

➢ Haryana become first state in the country to launch High-Risk Pregnancy (HRP) portal. It has been launched as part of the High Risk Pregnancy Policy of state implemented since November 2017.
➢ This innovative web application has been designed to track every high risk pregnant woman till 42 days after delivery, so that she receives adequate treatment during the antenatal period for healthy outcome of pregnancy”
➢ This initiative will definitely increase the pace of decline in Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR), Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) and Stillbirth Incidence as morbidity and mortality is quite high in high risk pregnant cases, if not managed timely,.

Haryana village to sing national anthem every morning, 20 loudspeakers installed for Rs 2 lakh

➢ The residents of Jat-dominated Bhanakpur village in Faridabad district will now start their day by listening to the national anthem at 8am.
➢ As many as 20 loudspeakers have been installed in Bhanakpur to facilitate over 5,000 villagers sing the national anthem along, thus making the village first in Haryana and second in India to introduce the system.
➢ Telangana's Jammikunta is the first village to do.

India-Japan Smart Grid Pilot Project in Panipat

➢ To solve the various complications faced by the power distribution sector, the Haryana government announced that 10 lakh smart meters will be installed in the state.
➢ The announcement was made by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar in the presence of Japanese Minister Keniko Sen after he inaugurated the India-Japan Smart Grid Pilot Project in Panipat, said an official release.
➢ It said that five lakh meters would be installed this year and five lakh next year.
➢ The Smart Grid Pilot Project, being set up with the assistance of Japan, would ensure uninterrupted power supply to domestic as well as industrial consumers of the city.
➢ Japan’s New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) had inked Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Haryana Government in December 2015 for demonstration of Smart Grid Pilot Project in Panipat.

Haryana to set up NBFC for efficient management of funds

➢ The Haryana government has decided to form a non-banking financial company (NBFC) -Haryana State Financial Services Limited to act as an in- house treasury manager for efficient management of surplus funds of state public enterprises and autonomous bodies.
➢ "The NBFC will provide better deposit rates on overnight funds of state government entities.It would also provide much better lending rates to state government entities than the banking industry," state Finance Minister Abhimanyu said.
➢ The NBFC would enable quick and hassle-free lending and create financial discipline among the state government entities.
➢ It will be established as a limited company under the Companies Act and registered with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) as an NBFC.
➢ The authorised capital of the company will be Rs 10 crore and the paid up capital will be Rs 2 crore in the first instance.
➢ The entire equity of the company will be held by the state government

Haryana to implement solar-based micro irrigation schemes in all districts

➢ Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today directed the irrigation department to implement the integrated solar-based micro irrigation scheme in all districts of the state.
➢ Before this, such scheme is being implemented on pilot basis in commands of 14 different canal outlets spread over 13 districts of the state at a cost of Rs 24.65 crore.
➢ He constituted a committee under the Chairmanship of Haryana Renewable Energy Development Agency (HAREDA) chairman to chalk out a strategy in this regard.
➢ The committee would work out a comprehensive strategy for the implementation of solar-based micro irrigation system in all districts of the state and submit a report in this regard.
➢ The chief minister said solar-based micro irrigation system would not only save electricity and water considerably but also prove to be economical for farmers.

Elite Women’s National Boxing Championship

➢ Elite Women’s National Boxing Championship started in Rohtak, Haryana in January.
➢ Over 300 top boxers stepped into the ring during the second edition of the championship with the Boxing Federation of India (BFI).

➢ Hosts Hockey Haryana emerged as the Champions after defeating Madhya
Pradesh Hockey Academy 6-1 in the finals.
➢ Whereas, in the Bronze Medal match, it was Hockey Gangpur-Odisha who edged
past Sports Authority of India 4-2 in a thrilling match.
